Summers Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
Ripe and fleshy in feel, with layers of steeped red currant, plum and blackberry fruit, laced with tobacco, singed cedar and sage notes. Features a dense finish but shows good cut, with a buried iron accent. Best from 2020 through 2032. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 900 cases made.
The outstanding 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve from Summers Estate is a rich, full-bodied effort that has high-quality notes of plums, blue fruits, cigar box, and earth. Aged 23 months in barrels, it has some aggressive oak, good mid-palate depth, and plenty of length. Give bottles 2-3 years to soak up some oak, and it should keep for a decade.
