Rebel Coast Winery Reckless Love Red Blend 2014
Gandona Encosta Cabernet Sauvignon 2011The 2011 vintage offers bright and dynamic aromas of raspberries and red cherries that are superimposed with cardamom, nutmeg, caramel and honeysuckle. Rich milk chocolate, pomegranate and framboise are layered onto fine-grained tannins. An interplay of burnt sugar and rhubarb integrate seamlessly into the well-structured toasted oak.
Quilt Cabernet Sauvignon 2015Drawing from a patchwork of six prime Napa Valley AVAs to create full-bodied, rich, and decadent wines, Quilt exemplifies the classic structure of wines from the region, while the blending of fruit from a variety of vineyards allows the wines to maintain more complexity and a better style consistency from vintage to vintage.
Belle Glos Las Alturas Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016 BottleDeep garnet in color with an aromatic medley of black cherry, marionberry, ripe plum and a hint of anise. Dark fruit on the palate with flavors of wild berries, caramelized oak and cacao nibs complemented by subtle notes of vanilla, cedar and a hint of lavender and forest floor. Rich and unrestrained, this wine's abundant fruit is beautifully balanced by firm acidity and layers of red and black fruit.
Wagner Red Schooner Voyage 5This Malbec is made from grapes grown in the Andes Mountains, shipped chilled to Napa Valley and produced with the same techniques as our Caymus Cabernet. Falling outside standard labeling rules, it does not include a vintage date but is known by the voyage from which it was produced (Voyage 5 is the 2014 vintage). Offering scents of ripe plums and cherries, this wine is powerful and supple, with flavors of French oak and soft tannins
Lancaster Cabernet Sauvignon 2014The 2014 Lancaster Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful wine that captures the pure expression of our unique terroir here at Lancaster Estate. It is a blend of all five of the red Bordeaux varietals we have planted on our volcanic hillside slopes. Bold aromas of dark raspberry, cherry, and violet are complemented by a refined minerality. It is well-structured and focused with silky tannins that frame the blackberry, currant, vanilla, and spicy dark chocolate flavors. Endless layers continue to evolve on the palate as the wine opens leading to an elegant, lingering finish. An approachable wine in its youth, this Cabernet will only gain in complexity and will drink well for the next 15-20 years.
Caymus Suisun Grand Durif 2015Our Grand Durif features a deep, majestic purple, with a nose of blueberries, wet earth and saddle leather. The initial impression on the palate is broad, smooth and weighty, then springs into gear with dch and harmonious tannins. The key notes of this wine are the lush textural tannins that push the limits on arrogance yet also display friendly supple qualities. It's truly difficult to explain its singular style-firm structure yet super-abundant fine textural softness. Oak plays a significant role in providing a vanilla character. This wine can be enjoyed now, though it is still quite a baby. Although I find myself drinking it now, I believe it has tremendous aging potential as well.
Cakebread Reserve Chardonnay 2013The 2013 Chardonnay Reserve offers an enticingly fresh, perfumed nose of creamy golden apple and Asian pear fruit mingled with intriguing beeswax, mineral and toasty oak scents. Fresh and lively on the palate with deeply concentrated, layered flavors of yellow apple, white peach and melon, the wine boasts a long, lingering finish showcasing mouthwatering lemon curd and mineral tones. While this intense, beautifully structured chardonnay is impressive now, it will gain further richness and complexity with another 5-7 years of aging. Food Pairing: Salmon, swordfish, veal and light pork, bouillabaisse or cream bisques.
Emmolo Merlot 2015A deep purplish red, this wine is rich on both the nose and palate. Scents of lush dark plums mix with candle spice, saddle leather, floral notes and cocoa baking powder. A sweet smokiness calls to mind the smell of a campfire burning in the woods. The palate starts off smooth and continually expands, with earthy flavors of dark fruit compote, baking chocolate, leather and toasty oak. Gritty, finely textured tannins build all the way through the finish, which lingers with notes of bittersweet chocolate and ripe berries.
